Privacy policy

Last updated: October 4, 2026

Sèvra Skin Care ("Sèvra", "we", "us") sells skincare to customers in Canada through sevraskincare.com and offers free skin advice by questionnaire, email and video consultation. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it and the choices you have. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, for residents of Quebec, Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).

We keep things simple: we collect only what we need to sell you our products and advise you well, we never sell your personal information, and we never use your skin information for advertising.

Our Privacy Officer

Our Privacy Officer is responsible for how Sèvra protects personal information. For any question, request or complaint, write to:

Privacy Officer, Sèvra Skin Care
Stratford, Prince Edward Island, Canada
Email: hello@sevraskincare.com (subject line "Privacy")

What we collect and why

When you place an order: your name, email, phone number, shipping and billing addresses, the products you buy and payment details. We use this to process payment, ship your order, send order and shipping updates, handle returns and keep the business records the law requires. Card numbers are handled by our payment processor; we never see or store your full card number.

When you complete our skin questionnaire: your first name, email, province (optional), preferred language and your answers about your skin type, sensitivity, reactions, triggers, ingredient allergies, goals, current routine and anything else you choose to tell us (which may include health-related details such as a skin condition, a recent procedure or pregnancy). We use this only to give you personal skincare recommendations and future advice, and to check our products against your stated allergies. We ask for your consent before you submit, and we treat these answers as sensitive information.

When you book a video consultation: your name, email, chosen time and anything you write in the booking form. We use this to schedule and hold the call. We do not record consultations. Your advisor may keep short written notes about your skin and the products discussed so that future advice is consistent.

When you join the Register (our email list): your email address and the date you joined. We use it to send early access to new products and letters from our advisors. You only join if you choose to, and every email has an unsubscribe link.

When you email us or create an account: the information you send us, and your account login and order history.

When you browse our website: device and usage information such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed and items added to your cart, collected through cookies and similar technologies. See Cookies below.

Skincare guidance is not medical advice

Our advisors give skincare guidance, not medical advice, and do not diagnose conditions. If you tell us about a diagnosed skin condition or a severe reaction, we may suggest you speak with a doctor or dermatologist.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with service providers who help us run Sèvra, only as much as they need, and under agreements that require them to protect it. Within Sèvra, only the people who process orders or advise clients can see it.

  • Shopify, which hosts our store, checkout, customer records and email list, and delivers questionnaire submissions to us. See the Shopify Privacy Policy.
  • Payment processors (through Shopify checkout) to process and secure payments and prevent fraud.
  • Shipping carriers, who receive your name, shipping address and phone number to deliver your order.
  • Calendly, which runs our consultation booking, and our video-call provider, which hosts the call.
  • Our email provider, which hosts our hello@sevraskincare.com mailbox.
  • Professional advisors, such as our accountant, where needed for our legal and tax obligations.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or if Sèvra's business is transferred to a new owner, who would be bound by this policy.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not share your questionnaire answers or consultation notes with anyone for marketing or advertising.

Where your information is stored

Some of our service providers, including Shopify and Calendly, store or process information outside your province and outside Canada, including in the United States. While it is there, it may be accessible to courts, law enforcement and national security authorities of that country. Before using any provider, we consider whether it protects personal information adequately, including any information transferred outside Quebec.

Cookies

Our store uses cookies that are needed for it to work, such as remembering your cart and keeping checkout secure, plus Shopify cookies that help us understand how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, although parts of the store, such as the cart, may stop working. If we use advertising or tracking cookies in the future, they will be off until you agree to them, and you can opt out of data sharing for advertising at any time here.

How long we keep it

  • Order and payment records: six years after the end of the tax year of the order, as Canadian tax law requires.
  • Questionnaire answers and advisor notes: while you are a Sèvra client, and deleted three years after our last contact with you, or sooner if you ask.
  • Consultation bookings: two years after the appointment.
  • Register (email list): until you unsubscribe. We then keep only a record that you unsubscribed, so that we don't email you again.
  • Customer service emails: two years after the conversation ends.

When we no longer need information, we delete it or anonymize it.

How we protect it

We use accounts protected by strong passwords and two-step verification, limit access to people who need it, and rely on providers that encrypt data in transit. No system is perfectly secure. If a privacy breach creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will tell you and the appropriate privacy regulator as the law requires.

Your rights and choices

  • Access: ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy.
  • Correction: ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Withdraw consent: withdraw your consent at any time, for example to us keeping your questionnaire answers. This may limit the advice we can give, but it will never affect an order you have placed.
  • Deletion: ask us to delete your information, except records we must keep by law.
  • Portability (Quebec residents): receive information you gave us in a commonly used format.
  • Unsubscribe: leave the Register at any time using the link in any email, or by writing to us.

To make a request, email hello@sevraskincare.com with the subject "Privacy". We may need to confirm your identity first. We will respond within 30 days and there is no charge.

We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing.

Children

Our store and advice services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of majority in their province or territory. If you believe a minor has given us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Complaints

If you have a concern, please contact our Privacy Officer first, and we will do our best to resolve it. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. Quebec residents may also contact the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.

Changes to this policy

We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top. If we make a significant change to how we use your information, we will tell you by email or on our website before it takes effect, and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
